A combo port is a software interface that combines two physical interfaces: an Ethernet port and an optical SFP + port. It allows for twisted pair or fiber optic connections. Only one of the combo port interfaces can be used at a time: Ethernet or SFP +.

The CRS312-4C + 8XG-RM has a dual power supply for redundancy - no unexpected downtime when deadlines approach. You can choose between the feature-rich RouterOS to download, or the simpler yet powerful SwOS. If you need the ability to use routing and other Layer 3 features in your CRS, use RouterOS.

Combo ports are grouped as follows:

• Combo 1: Ethernet 1T и SFP+ 1F
• Combo 2: Ethernet 2T и SFP+ 2F
• Combo 3: Ethernet 3T и SFP+ 3F
• Combo 4: Ethernet 4T и SFP+ 4F

If you connect Ethernet and SFP + to the combo port at the same time, then SFP + will be used by default. In the settings, you can manually specify which port to use.

There are two 220V connectors on the back of the case for power redundancy. If one of the lines fails, the device will automatically use the second power line. To cool the device, four coolers with automatic rotation speed control are installed.

The switch supports booting two operating systems: SwitchOS and RouterOS Level 5. If you want to use the device as a simple Layer 2 switch, boot SwitchOS. If you need to use the device as a full-fledged Layer 3 router / switch, then download RouterOS. The RouterOS operating system allows you to limit the speed of users, prohibit torrents and social networks, organize a remote connection to the office via VPN, PPPoE, configure a firewall, Proxy, and much more.
