MikroTik CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+ (CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+)

The new updated revision of CCR1009 is here. Mikrotik attempted to combine all the customer feedback and best practice in CCR device manufacturing that Mikrotik learned over the last three years, since the first CCR1009 devices were launched.

Important changes:

No switch-chip - the device now features only fully independent Ethernet ports each with a direct connection to the CPU, allowing to overcome previous shared 1Gbit limitation from switch-chip ports and utilize full potential of CPU processing power on those ports.

Combo-port - a single 1Gbit software interface that has two hardware interfaces - a SFP cage and a Gigabit Ethernet port, allowing you to use any type of connection available to you. Port also allows to switch from one to another interface from software, or in event of disconnect, providing new, unique hardware fail-over feature.

100Mbps SFP support - this is Mikrotit first device that supports 100BASE-LX/100BASE-SX/100BASE-BX fiber modules, as well as standard 1.25G SFP modules.

More throughput - due to how ports are connected to CPU, new CCR1009 models can achieve higher theoretical throughput.

The device belongs to the new series of routers CCR1009-7G-1C-, which replaced CCR1009-8G-. MikroTik has enhanced the entry-level CCR1009 product line by carefully collecting user feedback and accumulated experience in the production of powerful multi-core Cloud Core Routers.

Features:

• No switching chip. The device now features fully independent Ethernet ports, each directly connected to the CPU, breaking past 1 Gbps bandwidth limitations and harnessing the full processing power of these ports.
• Combo port. One Gigabit software interface with two hardware ports (SFP and Gigabit Ethernet) provides independence from the type of available transmission medium, thereby providing operational flexibility. In addition, the interface has a new unique redundancy function in case of disconnection, and also allows software to switch the used port.
• Supports 100Mbps SFP. For the first time, MikroTik devices support 100BASE-LX / 100BASE-SX / 100BASE-BX optical modules in addition to the usual 1.25G SFP modules.
• More speed. Thanks to direct connection of ports to the CPU, the CCR1009 models offer higher theoretical bandwidth

The router can be mounted in a 1U rack. There is also Smart Card support, which will allow you to store the private key for use in functions that require certificate-based authentication. Additionally, the router has a touchscreen LCD, microSD and SFP + port for 10G connections.
