Ubiquiti Rocket 5 AC Lite (R5AC-LITE)

Rocket 5 ac Lite —  is a new access point operating in the 5 GHz frequency range, replenishing the ranks of the popular series. As the name implies, the access point differs from previous models in the support of the new WiFi 802.11 / ac standard, which provides a data transfer rate of at least 450 Mb / s.

In addition to supporting the new WiFi 802.11 / ac standard, the access point received an improved MIPS 74KC processor with a frequency of 550 MHz, as well as an increased amount of RAM, which is 128 MB DDR 2. The transmit power of the access point is 27 dBm. Such indicators allow you to create radio bridges at distances of several tens of kilometers when using narrowly oriented antennas, for example, RocketDish 5G-31 ac, which was developed specifically for use with Rocket 5 ac Lite. Support for the proprietary AirMax protocol, developed by Ubiquiti specifically for its equipment, eliminates the occurrence of so-called “collisions” - data packets overlapping each other. The access point runs on the AirOs operating system, which has an intuitive interface; the Rocket M5 ac configuration process will take the minimum time and will be as simple and convenient as possible. It should be noted that at the moment Rocket 5 ac Lite only supports point-to-point operation. But in the near future, the developers promise to increase the functionality of the device by releasing an update that will allow its use in point-to-multipoint networks.

Creating Rocket 5 ac Lite, Ubiquiti engineers thought out the protection of the electronic components of the device from the effects of aggressive environmental factors - dust, moisture, temperature extremes and mechanical damage. Rocket 5 ac Lite has a durable sealed enclosure made of special plastic, which will allow you to use the access point outdoors even in the most severe conditions, at temperatures from −40 to +80 degrees.
